Keith has been appreciating and sharing beer ever since he hosted his first beer tasting for his college dormmates in Ithaca, NY in 1982. From there, he progressed to becoming an award-winning homebrewer and professional brewer in 5 breweries across the world (including Tahiti!). Keith has held leadership roles in several homebrew organizations, including the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, and has run multiple national homebrew competitions.
You can see Keith along with Jeremy Rintz featured on the Madison-produced beer education show, "Beerpocalypse Now!" on WYOU-TV, Madison, WI, where they recently featured a 3-part episode "A Wake for Dogfish Head in Wisconsin" -- a tasting of 10 Dogfish Head beers before they departed from the Wisconsin market, live airings from the Great Taste of the Midwest Beer Festival and Madison Craft Brewing Week, and an episode tasting gluten-free beers.
Keith is also a Master Beer Judge (since 1993, highest rank) through the BJCP and has judged at over 100 beer events. On a recent Hophead Beer Tours featuring Chicago breweries, Keith was the guest host to a group of over 20 beer enthusiasts. He has hosted many beer tastings and dinners for corporate and private groups.
Keith is co-founder of Next Door Brewing Co. in Madison, WI.
